Wow. How long has it been? Let's see... Right around eight months since my last journal. Amazing, isn't it? Haaaaah, and look at that, I'll have posted THREE WHOLE JOURNALS in all of 2009, as I don't foresee myself doing another one any time soon...

In fact, I dunno why I'm doing one now!

Oh well.

SO. News on teh Ara... I'm totally going to do NaNoWriMo this year. I'M DOING IT. Even though I'm already two days behind. :D Hahaha I need a plot. -_-

And oh yeah, newsflash, I AM NOT DEAD! School's just been keeping me super busy... That, and *cough* Rping. Mmmm, writing. But seriously, this year I switched majors, AND up and decided to join the Air Force ROTC (for those of you who don't know what that is, it's the Reserve Officer Training Corps - which means that I'll graduate and become a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force). So, I'm pretty booked.

Changing my major has killed my time to do art... Well, not really, I guess. Hm. I have like three or so things I've been working on since JULY *shoots self* but I haven't yet finished them. OH, I PLAN ON IT THOUGH. And I guess I can announce an upcoming ten page comic EXTRAVAGANZA (not really) that I'll be posting. It's for a project for one of my classes (the last art class I'm taking *sniffle*), and I'm pretty excited about it. I finished the script, and the basic thumbnails... Now it's time to draw draw DRAW. I'm HOPING that I can keep going with it too... Keep it as an ongoing comic. But knowing me... I dunno.

Either way, that's it from me. BORING JOURNAL IS BORING.

Eh. Maybe I'll post again this year if something exciting happens to me *coughnotlikelycough*

In other news, I'm still bored. and the Zoo internet doesn't let me do much. It doesn't show pictures on DA. 'CEPT FOR THE ONE I DREW OF TEH MARVEL ZOMBIES. Which makes no sense. At all. I AM REALLY HUNGRY. Maybe I'll make spaghetti tonight. Yeah. Something. Op, looks like I can go into the classroom now. I guess I will.

AND NOW CLASS IS OVER. And I'm home. I'm gonna make spaghetti. Yes.

Haha so, away goes the rant about the Iron Man movie, and up comes a journal that's probably going to stay here for a long while.

I still love Iron Man. But now I've read a good big chunk of the comics, and am still working on it. I PLAN ON READING EVERY ISSUE. I wanna be a hardcore fan like that.

In other news, I'm thinking of doing commissions or something... I still don't have a job. If I did commissions, would anyone be willin' to pay me to do 'em?

Alsooooooo... Saw The Spirit today. Bahahahahaha. I... THINK I liked it. Had me rolling laughing, believe it or not. So I'm going to read some of the comics. Expect fanart from that most likely... I'm also working on a picture of Iron Man that I HOPE will kick some serious butt by the time I'm done with it. If I'm patient enough. Mer.

So, all in all, today was a pretty good day. Got a new game, my computer cord had died, and I got a new one of those for Christmas (THANK THE POWERS THAT BE... Or Santa), and heck, I chopped off ALL OF MY HAIR. Most of it. My brothers tell me I now look like a dude. Hm. Either way, I hung with good friends (I LUFF YOU GUYS!) got some neat stuff, and was able to give a couple of gifts out, even though I'm flat broke. Those of you who haven't gotten a gift, and I've told you I will? IT WILL BE COMING. SOON. When I get a job/unlazy myself to finish stuff.

Hmm. There was totally another reason I was writing a new journal. Oh well.

So... Only like a month since my last entry. Holy crackers, isn't that insane? I know, right?

OKAY BIG WARNING. THIS IS AN EPIC RANT ABOUT IRON MAN. HAhahaha if you don't want to read me babbling about it, IGNORE THIS.

Lol, I"m in history class and bored. Sooooo...

I'm gonna talk about Iron Man! Since it's what I am ABSOLUTELY obsessed with right now... Well, I claim it's not that bad, but uh, I think it is.

So, I saw the movie not too long ago and immediately deemed it the best superhero movie I've seen. Yeah, I'll even admit that it beat X-Men and Spider-Man. I think I even like it better than Batman Begins, which is really saying something. So first off, kudos to Marvel for their first movie like this. Sure, other people have used Marvel, but I'm PRETTY sure this is the first Marvel-produced film. And DANG WAS IT GOOD.

I really can't say anything bad about it, to be honest. Two hours and five minutes long, so it wasn't horribly long, but it was long enough to not be too short. (Lol, whut?) And pacing was beautiful. Never at any point was I bored. None of that watch-checking for me. (Someone once told me they judged how good a show was by how many people checked their watches before it was over).

The cinematography was great, the soundtrack is AWESOME. It's funny, the soundtrack neither has Iron Man (Black Sabbath) nor Back in Black (AC*DC, if I'm not mistaken) on it. But it DOES have 17 FINE instrumental pieces, Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies, and the original Iron Man theme song from the 60's... Which is a horrid, HORRID song that gets stuck immovably in your head, and yet it makes me laugh. IT IS SO CHEESY.

The effects were top notch too. A LOT of the Iron Man costume shots were real, which made me SO HAPPY. The only CG parts were honestly the ones in flight, and probably while fighting Iron Monger... But very much of what you saw was real. And I really respect Favreau for that. What WAS done in CG was excellent anyway, so overall, fun stuff. Looooots of explosions (which too were real... In an interview I watched with Downey Jr. he said that there was a TON of shiz blowing up behind him ALL DAY). Good stuff.

And oh man, the ACTING. They couldn't have chosen a better part for Tony Stark than Robert Downey Jr. The man was PERFECT. And a LOT of what you saw there wasn't scripted. The actors got a general idea of what was wanted, and went for it. I think that's why a lot of that dialogue was quite real feeling. Hahaha, from what Downey Jr. said, he'd basically greet Favreau every morning by balling the script for that day and tossing it at the wall. Then Favreau'd say "Oh, good morning, Robert!" And Gweneth was great as Pepper, and ahhhh, everyone was GREAT. Jeff Bridges made a great Obadiah... Just. Perfect. The lines, how they were delivered, the timing. All of it. These guys REALLY worked well together.

The story itself was done really well too. All the characters were done well, and Tony's especially grew as the movie progressed. The plot was fairly simple, but explained well, and lacked too many plot holes. Sure, it was a bit cheesy at times, but honestly, how can you NOT make that happen? IT's a guy who's a total douche bag in a friggin' super-advanced robotic suit who made it for FUN. Haha actually, that's a great basis. XD

Anyway, overall, EXCELLENT MOVIE. In fact I went and saw it WAY TOO MANY TIMES (current count's 7). So you should go see it. With me. I'll go with you. Haw.

And there were only three things in the movie that bothered me. They were the ONLY things I could find wrong with it...
1. They pronounce 'sake' wrong - they say sah-key instead of sah-kay.
2. There's a point where Stark's mini arc reactor's taken out of his chest, and it's rotated the wrong way to release it.
3. Pepper turns the screen saver on on Tony's computer in his office, and the way it was shot, and the timing was a little off with how she was sitting in the next shot.

Other than that? PERFECT MOVIE. GO. FRIGGIN'. SEE. IT.

Oh, and stay after the credits, but you won't get it unless you know the Marvel world pretty well... And the Avengers. :D

I'd say more but hahahaha this is ABSOLUTE OVERKILL. I think I just needed an outlet. YOU WILL BE SEEING IRON MAN FANART HERE SOON. Don't you guys worry your pretty little heads! :D

Also, I should like, scan/take pictures of some of the crap I've been doing... I'll get to that eventually. And I have a few pictures I need to color... SO YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY SEE SOME STUFF FROM ME OMG WHUT?
